The «Academic Business Planner» is an advanced web application, which collects as
much information as possible regarding important parameters of a business idea.
The wanted result is a proper simulation and gauge of the future business’ critical
aspects, through various widely used standard financial reporting and accounting
calculations. These approximations will provide a good indication of whether the
business will be sustainable and profitable in a 5 year time horizon, which is an
ideal scope during the preparation of a strategic Business Plan, especially in cases
such as an Initial Public Offer (IPO), raising capital through loans, mutual funds
or venture capital investments.
The application’s design and the approach of the aforementioned fields will provide
an ideal environment for academic purposes, through mentored assignments and monitoring
of student’s work. The «Academic Business Planner» will be specifically used during
the lectures and ongoing assignment activities of the “Innovation & Entrepreneurship”
course being taught on the 7th semester at the Informatics & Telecommunications
Department of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.
